National Agricultural Research and Development Institute (NARDI) is a State-owned Enterprise incorporated as a company limited by Guarantee on 13 January 2015. NARDI was formed under the Ministry of Agricultural Development and Food Security as a result of the merger of the Department of Agricultural Research (DAR), National Veterinary Laboratory (NVL), and National Food Technology Research Centre (NFTRC).
The entity has ten (10) ranches and arable farms spread across Botswana, which are used as research stations and experimental sites. In addition, NARDI has pilot-scale facilities for secondary and tertiary processing of agricultural produce. NARDI is very well positioned to provide facilities for both piloting and demonstration. In addition, NARDI has among its stakeholder, a number of farmers whose facilities can be accessed for demonstration.
